Why do Tigers have white spots in the back of their ears?

The white spots in the back of the Tigers ears is also called ‘Flashes’. They are used for multiple purpose. They are used for signalling and help cubs follow their mother in the jungle. They also serve the purpose to fool other animals as a set of ‘illusory eyes’ and the prey can get confused which direction the tiger is facing. This can also prevent a tiger from being attacked from the rear though the possibility is slim as the tiger is the apex specie and no other animal would dare to attack a Tiger from the rear. Tigers flash these white spots by rotating their ears in different situation for communication through signalling.
